El Cerrito,Por Favor

Yes indeed we are back in El Cerrito after being absent for a few years. El Cerrito doesn’t have much at all in terms of public art and that’s probably mostly to to lack of budgets. So, we started out here in 2020 and assigned two of our artists to complete a solo mural each, funded by our organization. It was a test of sorts to see if the public wanted more beautiful art. They do indeed!

Fast forward to 2023 where we completed our first group volunteer jam lead by Shaye Maxley, recent graduated of the Art Academy University in San Francisco.

Shaye designed a lovely floral mural along the Ohlone trail, directly across from a retirement home. This pathway is popular with walkers, joggers and bikers and was an ideal setting for her design to be rendered. Check out the photos featuring Shaye and our awesome volunteers.
