THREE THIRTY-THREE ARTS
We use art and creativity to build a shared community identity based on collective experiences. When a common goal is shared, unity is strengthened with diversity.
Three Thirty-Three Arts is a Bay Area 501(c)(3) nonprofit specializing in community murals, public art education, and participatory arts programming. Our work spans Oakland, Alameda, Vallejo, Mare Island, Concord, Walnut Creek, El Cerrito, and other Bay Area communities. Programs include Community Art Projects, Art Jams (group mural painting sessions open to the public), the Art of Being You youth campaign, and Special Projects that pair professional muralists with neighborhood revitalization efforts.
Three Thirty-Three Arts’ origins came about in 2015 as one of the founders of the non-profit Dragon School (99) with the initial mission to add beautiful public artwork to Oakland’s Chinatown community. Dragon School gained widespread recognition for the amount of artwork done for Chinatown and the East Bay, as well as how it inspired people to take notice and get involved in community. As the organization evolved over the years it has attracted more artists, volunteers, sponsors, and partners outside of Oakland that are drawn to the inspiring artwork and the concept of bringing people together to collaborate on projects for communities.
During the year 2020 we took the needed time to reevaluate our future goals and decided to rebrand to help us be more successful in our mission. Thus, we are now Three Thirty Three Arts. Same great mission with a broader reach. We’re operated by a team prolific in public art production and use this passion towards building stronger communities. We wanted to provide opportunities for anybody to contribute and collaborate through our community engagement experiences…so we did and will continue to do so!
